UK PREMIERE! Joe Hisaishi’s Orchestra Stories – My Neighbor Totoro

River Edis-Smith conducts the Chesterfield Symphony Orchestra in ‘Animals and Adventures’. The concert will feature the UK premiere of Orchestra Stories – My Neighbor Totoro by Joe Hisaishi. Taken from the 1988 Studio Ghibli film, the work is full of uplifting melodies and is bound to put a smile on your face. The orchestra will be joined by BBC Radio Derby presenter Becky Measures, who will narrate.

The evening will also feature two works selected by me, as this will be my final concert leading the ensemble: Vaughan Williams’ Overture The Wasps, and Massenet’s Ballet Music from Le Cid.

Tinsel Monday

A festive concert with Andrew Marples (piano), Lucy Phillips (violin), David Mayo-Braiden (piano), and Katy Strudwick (flute) in Elder Yard Unitarian Chapel, Chesterfield.

Come and enjoy a selection of music for Advent and Christmas including:

and many more seasonal delights!

The concert will last around an hour, followed by festive refreshments.
